MoveOn.org Admits We Are Winning the Energy Debate

August 7th, 2008 Me

About a month or so again I posted a plug for the American Solutions initiative.. Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. Yesterday I received an email from Dave Ryan, President of American Solutions,  that was sent out to all the supporters of the campaign….

Dear Sammy,

I want to share some really exciting news with you.  As you know, poll after poll shows that we are winning the argument about how to lower gas and diesel prices and develop more American energy now.

But the even bigger news is that the anti-energy elites are desperately worried. They are not only criticizing us, but they are admitting that they are losing the argument.

And friends, that’s big. In fact, considering the source, that’s huge.

Recently, liberal group MoveOn.org in an email to their supporters sounded dejected. They wrote “Here’s the truth: Right now, progressives are losing this argument.”

That can mean only one thing - WE ARE WINNING THIS ARGUMENT!

In the energy debate, common sense is winning and it’s got the anti-energy elites rattled because they offer no solutions to lowering gas and diesel prices.

American Solutions, on the other hand, has taken a bold stand and has been leading the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” movement that has energized millions of Americans around a positive solution. Because of your help and the help of more than a million others, today an overwhelming majority of Americans support opening up new areas for exploration and drilling of American oil and gas, including offshore.

Even though MoveOn.org admits we are winning, they won’t quit, and there is still more work to be done.

Congress has left for a 5-week vacation without doing anything to address the soaring cost of gas and diesel. This inaction is unacceptable to the American people, many of whom can’t afford a vacation this year.

Earlier today, American Solutions held a press conference with Speaker Gingrich and Members of Congress still in Washington working to pass an energy bill.  Our message to them was simple:  On behalf of the 1.4 million Americans who have signed the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” petition, it’s time for Congress to take immediate action to lower gas and diesel prices.  Here’s a video from the event:

Now more than ever, we need your help to keep the pressure on Congress.  You can help by forwarding this email to 5 of your friends, telling them we are winning the argument, and urging them to sign the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” petition.

If we get 2 million petition signatures we will make a big impact at both the Democratic and Republican conventions.

Thank you for all you are doing - we’re really making a difference.

Sincerely,

Dave Ryan

President

Domestic Oil Drilling & Energy Independence

August 1st, 2008 Me

As soon as gas prices hit $4.00 a gallon here in California, I believe it was mid-May or so, American’s began to speak up! I know my dad I were talking about it almost instantly… domestic oil drilling.

As the prices crept higher, more and more political videos started popping up on the web promoting domestic oil drilling. The most recent one I’ve seen is by Rep. Don Young of Alaska urging the opening up of ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge). Since I saw this video a few weeks back, I’ve noticed gas prices have decreased slightly within the last 10 days… the station around the corner is down to $4.25 a gallon.

According to an Article I found on ANWR “New Poll: Voters Favor Domestic Drilling

A recent telephone survey of 1,000 likely voters nationwide by the polling companyTM, inc. on behalf of FamilySecurityMatters.org shows that by nearly a 4-to-1 margin, Americans favor increasing domestic oil drilling (77% support; 18% oppose).

Moreover, 61% of respondents strongly backed tapping into U.S. oil reserves, and majorities from every demographic group surveyed backed domestic drilling, including 91% of Republicans, 73% of Independents and 67% of Democrats.

Finally, domestic oil drilling may soon be a reality so American’s can enjoy energy independence.

Your Children Should Learn Spanish

July 18th, 2008 Me

This guy has some audacity! Talking down about an English language law, and saying our kids should be learning Spanish?

First off Mr. Obama, the national language if you hadn’t noticed.. is English you jerk. Yes their should be a law requiring immigrants to learn and communicate in our national language.

And you say my children should have to learn Spanish? Why? Because our country is overrun by illegal immigrants, because idiot politicians like yourself won’t do a dam thing about it?

I’d love for my child to learn several languages. In fact we’ve already started by teaching our children sign language. Please enlighten me sir how the hell are our children supposed to learn a second or third language when you politicians keep reducing education funding. Our schools can barely teach our children proper English for cryin’ out loud.

Stimulus Checks Confiscated by the Government

June 27th, 2008 Me

According to this article in USA Today,

About $2 billion in economic stimulus rebate checks are being confiscated to pay overdue bills for child support, student loans and back taxes, the government says.

So far, 1.8 million rebate checks have been intercepted by Treasury Department computers showing that individuals owe money to federal or state governments. The biggest beneficiaries: parents who are owed child support.

My first thoughts.. awesome.. families are getting paid whats owed to them.. especially now with the cost of gas so high inturn driving up the prices on everything else.

My second thought is.. what scam! The government makes up money on paper to give to American citizens only to take it back nown in liquid form to pay back taxes and student loans owed to itself… talk about a fund raiser. And someone is really going to tell me this wasn’t planned out by our senior dipsticks in Washington? It’s almost blatent.

Kucinich Introduces Articles of Impeachment

June 10th, 2008 Me

A friend sent me this article from the San Jose Examiner… It’s about time….

Kucinich Introduces Articles of Impeachment

State Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President Bush yesterday in the House of Representatives.

According to the article back in the 2007 a substantial amount of the people thought Bush and Cheney should be impeached. Unfortunately they only have  about 6 months left in office now, so some speculate Congress probably won’t be interested.

The article said it best…

The president will, undoubtedly, be held accountable for his actions. But it will happen later rather than sooner.

Freedom to Fascism

June 6th, 2008 Me

Some friends of ours from church gave us a documentary to watch the other day called “Freedom to Fascism” by Aaron Russo (no relation). The movie revolves around the 16th Amendment and the legality of the federal income tax laws and the truth about the Federal Reserve. So last night we sat down and watched it.. truly unnerving.

Danish View of Our Upcoming Elections

June 5th, 2008 Me

NO MATTER WHO YOU WANT TO WIN IN NOVEMBER, I THOUGHT YOU’D ENJOY A  DANISH VIEW OF OUR UPCOMING ELECTION.
A journalist in Denmark has a pretty clear grasp of the  political situation here in America. He doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about  over here. His question basically boils down to this:

‘We in Denmark cannot figure out why you are even bothering to  hold  an election in the US.  On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a  lawyer,  running against a lawyer, who is married to a bitch, who is a lawyer.

On the other side, you have a war hero, married to a good looking  woman with big boobs, who owns a beer distributorship.

Is there really a contest here?

Talk of an Obama-Clinton Ticket

June 4th, 2008 Me

The Democratic race has been the hot topic for almost a year now and we all know there can only be one President. What I’ve been dreading would happen is now starting to surface… talk of Obama and Clinton as running mates.

After yesterdays election it has been declared that Barack Obama received enough delegate votes to obtain the Democratic nomination. According to headlines this morning on AOL.. Clinton refuses to back out of the race.. but may also be looking for an invitation from Obama for the second seat as Vice President.

I’m a republican.. I don’t want either of these people running our country. And for many American’s I believe they feel Clinton has no place in the White House.

According to AOL - Lanny Davis, a former White House special counsel under President Clinton, said he told the former first lady Tuesday that he was initiating a petition to press Obama to select her for the second spot on the ticket. He said Clinton did not encourage or discourage the step.

“If he doesn’t have her, I think he can still win. With her on the ticket, he can’t be beat,” Davis said.

I think the exact opposite.. if Obama and Clinton were running mates.. I think it would doom Obama’s run for President because his supporters don’t like Hillary.. why do you think they were supporting Barack in the first place.

Regardless, I think if either one of these candidates make it into office.. the USA is completely screwed.
