Relieving Back Pain

August 2nd, 2008 Me

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I’d been laid out with a bad back these last few weeks. I’ve had chronic lower back problems for years. I’m recovering after 7 visits to the chiropractor and I’d say I’m about 95%.

I’ve got two friends who are about 10 - 15 years older than me who also have severe back problems. One recommended I pick check out Treat Your Own Back by Robin A McKenzie. My other friend recommended I check out Pain Free by by Pete Egoscue and Roger Gittines.

I’m about to order both of these books hoping that I might be able to find some remedy to my back pain / back problems. I’d love to hear feedback.. if you have read / practiced anything out of either of these books, please leave your comments.

Family Reunion Over Fathers Day In Florida

June 19th, 2008 Me

We just got back from a 6 day vacation to the Orlando Florida area. Dad lives in Clermont so the Sammy Russo clan, along with one of my sisters and her family and one of my brothers, flew down to Florida. We planned it to spend Fathers Day with my dad and one of our other sister who also lives in Clermont… So it was a mini family reunion as a fe of our siblings didn’t make it. We spent a few days at my dads, we did our own thing for a day and we all did Disney’s Magic Kingdom for a da plus 2 travel days.

All in all it was a fun trip. A little bit of family drama mixed in… but a good trip. The bummer is I lost our Canon PowerShot SD1000 digital camera. I downloaded everything from our arrival through Fathers Day, but lost our Putt-Putt Golf pics and our Disney pics. Stupid me left it in the rental car… I think. I remembered an hour later once we were in the airport and about to enter security. We had time so we tried to track it down with Budget Rental Cars. Nothing was turned in.. so one of the Budget Rental Car employees at Orlando International Airport is both a liar and a theif, althought they say they are still investigating it. However, we haven’t unpacked, but I’m pretty sure it got left in the car.

The upside is my dad spent the day with Carrie, the Kids & I at Disney, so he has some pictures on his Canon digital camera. I guess another upside would be that Carrie didn’t “dislike” the Canon PowerShot SD1000.. but she wasn’t truly fond of it (neither was I to be honest). So now we’re forced to go buy another one. It sucks because right now it’s not in the budget.

We Might Be A Little Crazy

June 9th, 2008 Me

About a month ago or so I said to Carrie, part jokingly.. “Let’s buy a camper and just travel and live out of it for a while.” She wasn’t too fond of the idea.

Funny, the other night Carrie was surfing around the internet, on the Mothering.com Forum or MDC and came across a Christian family who decided to buy a diesel motor home, converted it to run on vegetable oil and they became ECO travelers and live where ever they want.

Carrie started getting excited about this.. after all I started it. So I said to her.. how is that gonna work with 3 kids and my business. She went out and found families with four kids doing just this. Turns out there are lots of families who lead a nomadic life with kids.

We might be a little crazy but, we are actually considering a simpler life of ECO RV Living & Traveling. I can honestly say we are dying here in Tehachapi and now with gas prices at nearly $5.00 a gal we are almost trapped. We believe the Lord put us here for a reason.. to find him and that we did.. now it’s time to move on.

We won’t be taking any drastic measures to rush out of here.. we’re probably looking at it as a 1yr goal. We at least have to stay her in Tehachapi until the baby is born in October.
