- F.B.I. Vs. Facebook… downloads the Storm Worm botnet
- Fony CNN and MSNBC Alerts… downloads malware
- The Hitman.. if you actually believe a hitman is trying to extort money from you.. then I all I can say is.. “good luck in the Darwin Awards”!
- Hurricane Charities
- Nigerian Scam, Take 2.. why do people send money to others because you got an email?
- Airline Tickets… no reputable company is going to send your CC# via email even in a zipfile.
- Search Engine Optimization Offers… I do SEO.. no one does it free.. period!
- Holiday Emails… don’t open holiday greetings from people you don’t know!
- Time Warner Cable Threat
- Wall Street Woes… a phishing scam
…Well the article said 12 but it was missing 2 of them… blame Switched.com.
Tips for staying safe on the internet
(I would like to think these are common sense.. but I guess not)
- NO ONE is looking to give you money in exchange to use your bank account.
- DON’T opening email or greeting cards from people you don’t know!
- MAJOR CORPORATIONS like Time Warner or Paypal will never ask for account details via email
- DON’T open attachments from companies you do business with unless you are expecting an email with an attachment.
- If you want to give away money.. do through a local church, the red cross or you can just give it to me.. paypal it to sammy @ sammyrusso DOT com
